EY UK is planning for the implementation of ISQM1, the International Standard on Quality Management, which is currently an Exposure Draft under consideration by the IAASB and will replace the extant standard ISQC1. It will apply to all firms carrying out audits or reviews of financial statements, other assurance or related services engagements and its objective is to require firms to make a risk-based assessment of its quality control processes and embed a system of controls.
