In the role of Performance Monitoring Technician, you will become an SME in all things Monitoring.You will support the development and delivery of detailed and in-depth monitoring of our key services, the servers they run on and the resources they consume. Working alongside other members of the team you'll also develop and rollout automated ways of working. In this position you will become a face to the wider business and participate in meetings and presentations to stakeholders of all levels.
You will be responsible for building specialised solutions that meet business needs, and provide end to end user journey analytics and performance metrics to ensure optimum website and application performance. You will engage with support teams to ensure they respond to problems swiftly and assist in providing resolutions and preventative measures for the future.
As a key stakeholder in the inception stage of new implementations and solutions, you'll ensure Performance Monitoring requirements and standards are adhered to and implemented before system go-live.About you
You have a keen interest in optimising the user experience and a proven track record of delivering solutions that have improved the day to day usability of systems, you will have ideally used monitoring tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace and have a desire to use these to their full potential. This, paired with your excellent understanding of core and modern IT technologies such as Windows operating systems, Network topologies and visualisation of Data Flows will enable you to hit the ground running.
You may have been a key player in the delivery of monitoring, or been the contact point for your team to the business in the past, either way you'll certainly have the confidence to present reports, analysis and lead discussions in meetings with stakeholders at every level. Your communication skills are important, both written and verbal to allow you to translate technical details into meaningful dialogue with business users in a way they will understand.
You will have excellent analytical skills, and the proven ability to implement, support and improve the Service Management provision and the software technologies that come with it. Any ITIL certifications would be a big advantage to your application, as would any experience working within an Agile methodology.
