Grow your career along with our BI function
Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. To perform at our best, we need the support of an expert BI function. As a BI Developer, you'll have the chance to build your skills within a newly formed BI team and IT directorate.
Our BI function turns data from across the ONR into meaningful information that helps us make important decisions. You'll provide crucial support, through a mix of data engineering, data modelling, data visualisation, reporting and monitoring. Day to day, you'll work with stakeholders to understand their requirements and help the Senior BI Developer to manage the BI analytics service. You'll also help to develop our main BI platform MiONR by gathering data from internal and third party source systems.
Educated to degree-level in Software Engineering, IT, Machine Learning, Data Modelling or another relevant discipline, you'll be familiar with tools and services such as Azure, SQL, Power BI Models/ datasets, Power Automate and PowerApps. You'll also be keen to learn and develop your technical talents, working alongside skilled professionals who'll share their expert knowledge. If you want a hands-on role where you can work with Cloud and Microsoft technologies, and develop your career, this is a great opportunity.
To join us, you'll need to show that can do attitude and have the communication skills to work with a range of stakeholders including the wider IT team. With the promise of bigger projects to come, there's tremendous potential to grow and develop.
We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £31,798 - £37,290 plus a London weighting allowance if applicable. Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a generous holiday entitlement.
ONR is a Public Corporation with a Mission to provide efficient and effective regulation of the nuclear industry, holding it to account on behalf of the public.
