Job Details

My client based in Milton Keynes are expanding their workforce due to an increase in workload and are now looking for a Product Support Technician ( calibration ) to process time critical calibration and repairs to customers' requirements.

You will be using SAGE, ACT, INSPIRE and ALMS for instrumentation purchased new from the company and on non-company supplied instrumentation returned by the customer for recalibration.

The work must be carried out in compliance with the Company's quality systems and technical systems approved to ISO / IEC 17025 accreditation.

Role

To primarily support the Calibration function by processing the customer's instrumentation using the appropriate software in line with the customer's requirements.

Customer's products can arrive in various conditions making calibration difficult and it is your role to evaluate the products in order to determine whether calibration or repair can be performed.

Carrying out repairs to faulty instrumentation either from the hire fleet or the customers.

All aspects of goods in / out and dispatch and implement quality procedures in the Services Delivery Area.

Order / manage stock of spares and compile hire agreement in line with customer's request / orders.

Put hire packages together, ensuring all aspects of the hire agreement has been met.

Carrying out repairs to faulty instrumentation either from the hire fleet or customer's returned instruments.

To build leads, battery connectors, and power supplies to meet customer's requirements.

You will also be expected to assist in other areas of the department when the need arises.

Qualifications & Skills

Recognised qualifications to a minimum City & Guilds / ONC in electronics or equivalent.

Literacy, mathematical and technical analytical skills in support of the above discipline

Good communication and telephone skills with both internal and external customers is key part of the role.

A sound working PC knowledge particularly spreadsheets, with good keyboard skills.

Previous experience of working within a Service Delivery Team environment

Previous acoustics knowledge, repair and fault-finding experience.

Duration Permanent

Salary £18,000 - £20,000 per annum depending upon skills and experience

Hours 37.5 hours a week

Times 8:00am till 4:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break

Holidays 20 days plus the 8 Bank Holidays = 28-day Holiday per annum
