Job Details

Director of People

Salary Range £62,000 to £70,000pa (subject to experience)

Leatherhead, Surrey

FTE 37.5 hours per week (flex of hours and location considered)

Queen Elizabeth's Foundation for Disabled People (QEF) is a national disability charity based in Surrey, with over 85 years' experience of providing innovative services that support almost 10,000 disabled people of all ages to increase their independence and live the life they choose.

In July 2020 QEF opened the £15 million state-of-the art Care and Rehabilitation Centre (CRC), a centre of neuro rehabilitation expertise supporting people across the South East of England. Through this landmark build, QEF aims to be at the forefront of neuro rehabilitation for people with an acquired brain injury or other neurological condition, using accessible technology to support clients and their families through what can be a very difficult journey. As we build on our heritage and expertise, we are looking to a future of growth as the Care and Rehabilitation Centre has expanded our capacity.

We employ over 260 people across Surrey and South London and are excited about entering the next chapter in our history, with a focus on modernising our services. The Care and Rehabilitation Centre will be the central hub of QEF that provides a link to all our services and greater community connections.

This Director of People is a key member of the Senior Management Team providing support to the QEF Group on all people related matters. It is a good time to join QEF as we develop our new 5-year strategy, which will be supported by an effective people plan, underpinned by our values and behaviours framework.

This is a truly generalist role leading and mentoring a small team in all aspects of HR and volunteer management stretching from strategic planning, being the subject 'expert' and 'rolling up your sleeves' to get the job done.

The role also supports other areas as the SMT lead, currently for marketing and communications and health and safety.

You will be CIPD qualified and have experience of leading an HR function together with the credibility of being the senior strategic lead and the capability to drive the service forward. As the subject matter expert, you will be able to support the team deal with all complex people matters.

Experience of working in a Health and Social Care environment would be a distinct advantage with the ability to understand and support our complex service structure which operates across several sites in Surrey and SW London.

You will be collaborative in your approach and able to work with all stakeholders to develop strategies and implement good practise across several specialisms including recruitment, learning and development, employee relations, volunteering, and diversity and inclusion.

A successful track record of leading change initiatives will be essential and working knowledge of TUPE desirable.

Analytical skills and the ability to work with qualitative and quantitative data is essential to develop business initiatives and measure success. Underpinned by the knowledge of the systems and processes required to maintain accurate data and collect feedback.
