Job Details

We are looking for a new Communications Officer to deliver creative communications in Northern Ireland and Wales to enable the charity to deliver its organisational strategy in a cost effective and efficient way.

One person in five in the UK is affected by lung disease. As the only UK charity for people affected by all lung and respiratory diseases - from mild asthma through to lung cancer - the Asthma UK-British Lung Foundation is here for every one of them. We provide support, fund vital research, and campaign for better prevention, treatment and care.

You will deliver an integrated social media and media relations service in Scotland which generates both reactive and proactive opportunities and raises the profile of Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation. Responding promptly and authoritatively to media requests, you will proactively identify and maximise media and social media opportunities across a range of outlets and channels. Ideally you will have a background in medical or science research and/or experience of writing about medical research.

You will be energetic and enthusiastic and bursting with ideas.

Interacting with colleagues at all levels and all teams across the organisation you will find this a great opportunity to develop your communications skills in a creative and energised workplace.

As well as a competitive salary, you'll enjoy a range of benefits including our cycle-to-work scheme, 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), pension scheme and much more.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an organisation committed to supporting everyone whose life is changed by lung disease.

Please note that CV's in isolation and any applications received after the closing date will not be considered.
