Hamlin Knight Finance is excited to be supporting this family-owned company in their search for a new Financial Director.

With a turnover of £25m and an ambitious growth plan in place for the next 5 years, this company offers the opportunity to join them at another exciting time in their 85 year history.

This role replaces the current FD who is retiring after more than a decade in role, and as such we are looking for someone who is able to commence early October 2021 to facilitate a brief hand over.

The role joins the Board of Directors and manages a team of three, potentially four, in finance.

We require the FD to be ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified with considerable post-qualification experience at this level and within a similar size company.

Duties will include:

Managing the team including identifying potential for individual growth which may allow them to take on additional tasks.
Identifying any areas where the team require support or additional resource.
Preparing monthly management accounts with commentary/recommendations and communicating these to the Managing Director & Board.
Visiting other (local) sites to provide financial insight throughout all areas of each operation.
Business Partnering the Managing Director and fellow Directors and advising on all financial matters.
Supporting the external Accountancy Practice with the management of the shareholder's financial affairs.
Preparation of statutory accounts.
Overseeing payroll.
Reviewing all suppliers, negotiating if required and driving costs down where possible.
Reviewing banking provisions.
Taking responsibility for insurances across the business both in terms of suitability, cover and cost.
Producing complex VAT returns.
Costing new ventures in detail, providing accurate profit forecasts.
Reviewing pricing periodically, providing competitor analysis and making recommendations to the Board.
Guiding decision making on investments.
Bringing Credit Control back into the Finance Department complete with designing & implementing processes to create an efficient Credit Control function.In return this company offers a generous basic salary and considerable profit related bonus.
