Data Platform Engineer - REMOTE

We are currently working with a FinTech company based who are looking to expand their cross function teams.

We are looking for a Data Platform engineer to collaborate with Developers, Testers and Product owners to successfully deliver applications and services. Your focus will be on advancing their data analytics pipelines, ETL and streaming solutions.

It is an amazing opportunity to develop and build analytics pipelines, improve ETL solutions, enable secure and auditable access to data lake, and support the expansive team. We are looking for someone who can help us design and implement scalable, secure and resilient platforms for delivering their products, services and user interfaces and help support this through production.

The company are based in Warwickshire but are open to individuals working full time remote and coming into the office on a bi-monthly or quarterly basis for important meetings or social events.

The team need motivated individuals who have the ability to take ownership of tasks, and have the skill to work collaboratively in a team, sharing knowledge and learning from others. We are looking for an excellent communicator who can ask for help when needed and work with others within the team and the company to bring out the best in themselves and their work.

Key Skills

Hands on experience as a data platform engineer
Experience with building analytics pipelines, ETL or streaming solutions or data lake tooling
Experience in writing well tested, clean code and focusing on maintainability and scalability
Experience in working in an agile environment.
Excellent understanding of AWS Cloud Platform and exposure to serverless architecture
Knowledge of technologies like AWS Glue or Spark
Exposure to BI and Analytics tools, ideally AWS Kinesis or Kafka
Knowledge of data structures and data driven design Nice to Have Skills

Knowledge of Python
AWS Data Analytics Specialty or Solutions Architect Professional
Exposure to Big Data Storage Platforms (Hadoop or Amazon EMR)
