This is an engineering role, so a background in engineering required.
Our client is part of a prestigious global engineering group and are considered as the market leader in the design, development and manufacture of precision machined components for the marine, agricultural, rail and power generation industries working with many of the worlds luxury car manufacturers. They are very established, globally renowned engineering business with a significant customer base and have grown year on year for the last 20 years, with some significant orders ahead for 2021.

Supplier Quality Engineer; Responsible for all aspects of Supplier Quality, providingthe companies direct Supplier Quality Contact.
Responsible for Supplier Visits, on-site Audits & Supplier Reports.
Measure, Monitor and Develop Direct Material & Component Suppliers.
Quality Standards and Requirements for Goods Received Inspection Processes.
Facilitate Supplier Quality & Support in-house Quality Activities as Required.
Monitor, evaluate and Support Process Quality Improvements
Strong Quality Engineering experience
Experience (ideally in a metallic manufacturing environment) in:
Medium to high volume manufacturing environment
Analysing reports (e.g., CMM inspection / inspection results, etc.)
Internal & External audit to ISO9001
Supplier Quality Management
Manufacturing processes (e.g., Machining, forging, pressing, assembly etc)
Proficient user of Minitab.
Knowledgeable of 1st principal inspection.
This is quite a unique situation in the sense this role is a forward planning for a retiree, so a lot of thought has gone into the role, what it will look like plus the hand-over, training and mentoring will come from the person retiring who has been in the role for many years. Which all make a good change from all of the reactive recruitment going on in the post Covid market.
Aside from the training and mentorship from the person you will be replacing, you will also be mentored and report directly to the Quality Manager, deputising for them when needed.
