The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is currently undergoing a significant period of change, responding to an increasingly digitalised world and taking on new responsibilities following EU-exit. Our work is not only high profile but also increasingly growing in complexity. It is essential we meet these new challenges whilst continuing to ensure we meet our statutory obligations, and our records management keeps at pace with digital advancements. We are therefore seeking a proven information management specialist to manage the development and implementation of digital transfers.
As Digital Transfer Manager, you will champion a culture of good information management across the CMA to ensure the whole organisation is adhering to new emerging trends and policies. Reporting to the Senior Departmental Records Officer (DRO), you will support the creation and implementation of new policies and procedures across the department to ensure legal compliance under the Public Records Act 1956.
Due to the vast amount of work required to achieve legal compliance by the end of 2022, you will act as an in-house specialist for digital transfers. Beyond 2022 you will ensure the CMA remains in compliance and transfers digitally born in-year legacy records annually, and consistently assess our processes and identify efficiencies and improvements where possible. You will also be responsible for implementing digital continuity principles and identifying and escalating risks to the DRO when necessary, as well as line managing the Records Transfer Officer.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience and understanding of digital preservation and extensive records and information management experience, combined with excellent communication and influencing skills and proven ability to deliver bespoke training packages, preferably on records management best practice.
The CMA may require you to work from home to continue delivering our objectives during the COVID-19 pandemic period. Any remote or home working arrangement is temporary only and does not constitute a permanent change to your designated place of work or working conditions.
