Social Care Assistant - Mackenzie Centre
Band 3 - £20,907 to £22,820 per annum pro-rata
37.5 Hours per week
A Band 3 Social Care Assistant is required for the South & Mid Division based at The Mackenzie Centre. A day centre for older adults on Culduthel Road, Inverness, we provide support Monday to Sunday. This vacancy provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join our positive and dynamic team. The Social Care Assistant role is a varied position working in a person centred way, promoting independence and reablement for all members.
The role will include but not be exclusive to:
To input to and implement person centred support plans with people and to monitor, review and evaluate progress.
To organise and support social activities and outings to enhance the quality of life for service users.
Offer outreach support to members in their own homes or within their communities.
To ensure personal care tasks are undertaken with care and respect. This will include ensuring service users are comfortable, are able to eat and drink, are able to access and use toilets, are assisted to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance. Maintaining the dignity of service users is of paramount importance
To contribute to the planning, monitoring and recording of service delivery. All work undertaken at the centre is risk assessed and underpinned by the latest Scottish Government Guidance and Infection prevention and control advice. PPE will be provided as required.
The successful candidate should be eligible for SSSC registration and hold or show a willingness to work towards a SVQ 2 in Social Care or equivalent. They should have experience in a caring role and have relevant knowledge of the National Care Standards and the requirements of the Care Inspectorate.
