Do you have experience servicing, commissioning and/or repairing process control instrumentation? Are you looking for an opportunity to join a global leader in measurement instrumentation, services and solutions for industrial process engineering? Are you based in Surrey (or willing to locate) and enjoy being out on the road daily visiting customers sites in a variety of industries? Would you be happy with a £30-35k starting salary with a host of extra benefits on top?
If so, our client, a global player in the process control and measurement instrumentation industry, has a brand new field service role that could be exactly the opportunity you are looking for.

What you need to have:
  • Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level, preferably in Electronics or Instrumentation of control
  • Recognised apprenticeship in the above disciplines is ideal or a minimum of 2 years' Process Control experience
  • A flexible approach to working activities
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to develop good working relationships with customers
  • A full UK driving licence

The Role
  • To commission, calibrate and repair onsite instrumentation
  • To work in all industries within the Company customer database
  • To liaise with the Service Coordinators to ensure that all spares, tools and paperwork is available to enable them to carry out their duties
  • To liaise with customers when required prior to executing the job to ensure full understanding of the nature of the job and also to advise estimated time of arrival and of any delays which may be anticipated
  • To adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems and carry out risk assessments
  • To work to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and the Company quality management system
  • To man the 24-hour technical helpline according to the roster set by the Service Coordinators
  • Requirement to travel throughout the UK, overseas and possibly offshore
  • Periods of absence from home will be expected from time to time which will include overnight stays in hotels
  • Provide services and support to other departments and customers as deemed appropriate by the Services Manager
  • Timely and accurate job reporting in accordance with the Company service report forms
