You will lead a team of staff responsible for the statutory compliance, integrity and control of the unit's business systems, reconciliation and administration of the council's income and bank accounts as well as the financial control of the rent accounting system for the council's housing and garage stock as well as the household contents insurance scheme for council tenants.
The principal responsibilities of the post include ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with the legislation, audit requirements, guidance and council policies and procedures.
You will conduct accuracy and quality checks of the work carried out by the team, providing staff with technical and management support as well as assisting the Team Leader to develop individual and team workplans and new ways of working.
You will deputise for the Team Leader in their absence.
Experience of working in a Revenues and/or financial accounting environment and the ability to demonstrate a practical knowledge of systems control, income management, rent accounting and reconciliation procedures are essential.
