This role forms part of a global core solutions team whose objective is to empower and enable Analytics teams to do their best work by standardizing processes & tools, automating tasks, providing single-source-of-truth & delivering scalable solutions.
The team's responsibility is to deliver analytics focussed strategic initiatives via innovation, data engineering and process standardisation.
Some of the things we'd like you to do
Monitor and maintain automated data collection and transformation pipelines, troubleshooting data issues as-and-when they arise
Assist in identifying ways to continually improve technical infrastructure to increase performance, reliability and scalability, and to proactively manage data quality
Support the translation of user requirements and business needs into technical specifications
Take ownership for the delivery of technical solutions, in line with a prioritized development roadmap and agreed upon technical specifications
Stay up-to-date with Google Cloud Platform, and other supporting technologies, best practice and ensure it's applied in the work that you deliver
Attend internal stakeholder meetings, presenting your solutions and providing updates on your work
Support the development of strong working relationships with third-party data providers that we rely on for access to necessary data
A bit about yourself
5+ years experience in a data engineering or technically-oriented analytics role
Strong experience querying and manipulating data using Python and SQL to answer business questions
Experience building data pipelines to collect and transform data using Google Cloud technologies
Experience with digital marketing platforms (particularly Google Marketing Platform), and the data they generate. Knowledge of their API's a plus.
An understanding of how data is tracked and exchanged in the process of digital advertising (e.g. role of ad servers and other third-party tech vendors)
Analytically minded, enabling you to understand and overcome technically complex challenges, and to tell compelling stories with data
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple tasks in an autonomous way
Strong spoken and written communication skills
An ability to demonstrate a passion for the digital marketing ecosystem, and an understanding of the role that data plays within it
Delivers best results when working in a team environment, and an ability to partner effectively with people of varying degrees of technical capability
Experience working within an agile product management environment
Experience using Airflow / Google Cloud Composer
