We are currently recruiting an Engineering/ Product Development Director for our Vital Care & Speciality part of our business. This role will be is focusing on products primarily associated with ventilation and Instituteway management, breathing and respiratory devices, and associated products/technologies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct a business critical function through line or functional management levels where the scope and complexity of responsibilities requires the integration of multiple disciplines and departments.
Establish strategy and direction for a business-critical function in alignment with strategic plans established by top management and executive leadership.
Provide technical leadership in establishing both short- and long-term technology and product plans in support of business growth and profitability goals. Sets budgets for teams reporting to them.
Establish and maintain relationships with key individuals and contributors within the medical community and specifically within markets we participate in.
Collaborate effectively across multiple functional departments and across multiple global locations. Determine department priorities; resolve conflicts for department resources.
Ensure that projects are conducted according to company guidelines, design controls, and regulatory requirements. Monitor, document, and report project objectives and status to executive management.
Participate in the Engineering Change Order (ECO) approval process.
Oversee the preparation of documentation associated with engineering activities to include drawings/schematics, validation/ capability testing, various new and revised operating procedures, etc.
Review the content, thoroughness and quality of the work generated by the department.
Appraise and evaluate staff performance on a regular basis, provide appropriate feedback to individuals. Ensure that responsibility and accountability of direct and indirect reports are defined and clarified.
Scan the environment for business opportunities; maintain surveillance over markets and the industry.
Develop and disseminate information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning project goals and objectives.
