Overview

Our Internationally renowned Client is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join an established team. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will be responsible for ensuring all high speed progression tooling is fit for use to deliver a variety of high quality metal pressings.

Working on a rotating shift basis in their Ramsey factory based in the Isle of Man, the highly skilled individual will maintain the progression tooling and associated equipment required within the production departments. There will also be the occasional requirement to manufacture jigs & fixtures on request

Role Profile

* Responsible for the efficient and effective servicing of high-speed carbide progression press tooling

* Conduct effective and efficient repairs to high speed carbide progression press tooling to minimise any loss in production availability

* The manufacture of precision spare parts for tools from a variety of materials

* Monitor and re-order replacement punches and dies to maintain stock levels

* Implement modifications as requested by approved Engineering Change requests

* Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve component consistency and production efficiency

* Design and manufacture of prototype test equipment, fixtures & gauges

* Contribute to the fault-find on bespoke production equipment

Person Profile

* Time-Served Toolmaking apprenticeship or equivalent

* 5 years' experience in supporting a high-volume manufacturing environment

* A high proficiency in all types of Toolmaking equipment including but not limited to: Vertical Milling, Turning, Horizontal & Cylindrical grinding, Spark Erosion technology, Wire Erosion technology, Bench fitting

* Ability to operate a High Speed Press (Desirable, training will be given).

* A general understanding of Automation / Pneumatics / Hydraulics (Desirable)

* Competently operate Toolroom machinery

* Ability to fault-find, and solve issues

* Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

* Willingness to assist in maintenance activities within the factory

* Working understanding of CAD packages, SolidWorks would be advantageous
