The Audit Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC)* has been mandated by our client, an award-winning financial services business headquartered in Nottingham, to assist in their search for an Operational Risk Manager.

Working closely with the CRO as well as compliance and internal audit, this is a growth role due to workload and the incumbent will be responsible for building out a risk framework, looking in details at areas such as collateral, documentation and framework.

As the Subject Matter Expert, you will also be responsible for operational incidents and breaches, looking at root cause analysis as well as risk reporting. You will also be responsible for embedding risk culture into the business, adopting an approachable and problem-solving approach to stakeholders, as well as being involved in strategic projects.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an Operational Risk professional looking to make a difference within a business, who can prioritise legacy and date issues whist understanding the need for change.

The position will offer wide exposure to C-Suite executives and the Trustee Board who are very active within the business. Therefore stakeholder influencing is essential to this position.

Background Requirements:

Strong familiarity with risk management best practice

Significant Experience working within an operational risk role within the financial services industry

Critical thinking, with a challenging mindset

Confidence to challenge all levels of the business

Tenacity to drive improvement and risk reduction across the business

No tick the box mentality

Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail

Able to work under pressure and autonomously

Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication

Ability to generate clear and innovative risk material to inform and engage stakeholders

Desirable

Experience working with an operational risk/GRC system

Pensions industry experience, ideally within the Defined Contribution/Auto-enrolment field

Proven ability to work within a business to enhance risk management capability

Risk qualifications such as ERM or IRM are beneficial but not essential
