Application Support Engineer - Python

My leading investment banking client is seeking an expeienced Application Support Engineer with a background in Python to join their growing team.

This is an interesting and technically challenging role working alongside front office business users to address their queries, and ensure the software systems they use are running correctly.

You will work closely with development teams to maintain and improve stability iin various financial applications used by traders. You will monitor applications

The Role:

Providing Subject Matter Expert knowledge on applications to users, support and development teams
Scripting to enhance monitoring and automating manual processes, involves building python and shell scripts
Leading incident management during incidents to improve recovery time.
Providing analysis of incidents to identify underlying trends and focus areas
Interacting directly with IT leaders, managers and key stakeholders to proactively communicate status on active major incidents or problem tickets
Monitoring production systems, identifying current and impending production failures, taking proactive action to resolve

Candidates must have the following skills/experience:

Experience of production support, ideally in an environment following ITIL processes
Strong knowledge of python and shell script writing, building queries in SQL.
A hunger to learn and solve problems
