RequirementsThe RoleIsotropic Systems is seeking a Senior Product Reliability Engineer to join the Quality Team. You will join the team at a critical time in the development of the Quality within the overall business growth as we begin to plan for production and client projects. This role will be key to driving the reliability engineering input and verification of the product design. Being responsible for defining, planning, setting up and control of the organisation's product reliability processes.

It is key that you have demonstrable background in complex electronics / electromechanical environments providing reliability predictive analysis, root cause analysis support over the full lifecycle of the product. Alongside in-depth experience of system durability and reliability testing to influence product design is essential for this role.

The candidate will be responsible for reliability governance, supporting the identification & definition and delivery of reliability standard for programme / project needs

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provides reliability input to the design by supporting the identification and management of reliability standards
  • Develop predictive reliability models for new designs and support data analysis of existing products
  • Advise on test sample sizes and statistical confidence levels that are required to meet the desired quality and reliability targets
  • Ensures the reliability targets, critical factors and metrics for measuring success are set across all programmes
  • Works with the stakeholders to ensure the reliability risks across the programme are understood and in control
  • Creates and executes reliability test plans, collecting, analysing and presenting results / corrective action feedback to stakeholders
  • Use accelerated life calculations, testing & stress screening techniques to realise potential weaknesses in product designs and works with stakeholders to mitigate these
  • Analyses reliability related data and document opportunities for improvement to eliminate gaps between current and desired levels of performance
  • Perform RCA investigations to ensure effective analysis and reporting is provided to the stakeholders
  • Acts as a centre of excellence in the understanding and use of reliability prediction and problem-solving tools across the business
  • Identify ways of improving performance, reducing costs, improving production time whilst maintaining reliability and quality


Essential Skills And Experience
  • Reliability qualification and degree in Engineering discipline
  • Demonstrable experience working in a complex electronics reliability role
  • Experienced user of reliability prediction tools such as MTBF, Weibull, FTA, DoE
  • Ability to facilitate Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis meetings
  • Experienced in use of problem-solving techniques (5Y, 8D, Ishikawa etc.)
  • Strong process and continual improvement skills
  • Must be detail focused but with the ability to multitask, and to manage deliverables and handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Confident with working across multifunctional teams
  • Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office with advanced use of Excel to manipulate and analyse data
  • Team player and have good interpersonal / facilitation skills to drive resolution of issues with suppliers

Desirable
  • Experience in development of high frequency / telecommunication products
  • Qualification in Design for Six Sigma or Total Quality Management
  • Knowledge of reliability standards such as the MIL-HDBK
  • Proficiency in Computer Aided Engineering tools such as Ansys and Hyperworks
  • Experience in reliability modelling tools such as Reliasoft, Matlab
