A 4 day per week role, the Associate Director will be responsible for a technical MEP engineering role supporting a local healthcare trust in the design of and management of ongoing replacement and upgrade projects in Eastbourne. The successful candidate will have proven design experience in the healthcare sector and a track record of being the client's representative.

Duties of the role will include, but not be limited to;
* Leading a design team where design packages are produced. Ensure that all deliverables are prepared and signed off in accordance with the requirements of the QA procedures, relevant Standards and Codes of Practice
* Working independently as a client representative
* Assessing internal resource requirements
* Ensure compliance with all Statutory and Regulatory obligations, make submissions to the Statutory Authorities and obtain approvals as necessary
* Represent Client, Design Team and Progress meetings throughout the design and construction phases of projects
* Input to pre-qualification and selection of contractors, respond to tender queries, comment and review tender returns
* Attend tender / client interviews
* Attend site inspection meetings
* Ensure the project work complies with the Project Management Plan and Programme
* Understand and implement clients Safety Health and Environment Policy

Minimum Requirements:
* BEng for a relevant engineering course (MEng preferred)
* Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business
* Ability to be based on site in Eastbourne typically a minimum of 3 days per week.
* A strong technical understanding of building services
* The ability to work accurately, independently and efficiently, and to take ownership of projects
* Effective communication skills and be a team worker
* Track record of leading multi-disciplinary design teams projects
* Experience in project and client management within a defined fee budget and program, including managing team resources and interfacing with other disciplines
* Ability to speak fluently and communicate effectively in written reports and oral presentations

Preferred Qualifications:
* Chartered Engineer with CIBSE / IET / IMechE
* A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning
