We've got a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic digital marketing specialist to join our energetic team in Central Manchester. This role will see you enhancing our SEO strategy and working in an incredibly exciting sector.
We are Europe's largest manager of holiday rental properties, with 110,000 units under management in over 600 destinations in 25 countries across the continent. Our purpose is simple - to delight owners and guests. The business operates more than 25 consumer brands including Cottages.com, Novasol, Hoseasons, Landal and James Villa Holidays. More than 8 million people stayed in one of our properties in 2019.
The vacation rental market has been growing strongly over the last few years, with people desiring the space, flexibility and uniqueness provided. The current global pandemic has only served to strengthen that trend. Summer 2020 saw unprecedented demand, and we're not slowing down.
This is a newly created role, which would suit someone with a background in SEO, or someone who has a broad digital skillset and is keen to specialise. Whilst you'll be trained and supported, this role will give you the freedom to recommend changes, make suggestions and see your advice lead to real commercial benefit. This role will see you crunching the numbers to see what works when it comes to search engine optimisation, as well as keeping a constant eye on what our competitors and the industry as a whole are doing.
What you'll be doing
Within this role, you'll be optimising copy and landing pages to ensure that SEO is always in mind. You'll perform ongoing keyword analysis, expansion and optimisation, and we're looking for someone who is always keen to learn more. You'll be researching SEO strategy to ensure that we're at the top of our game, and you'll observe Google's best practices. We are data focused as a business, so you'll track and report on SEO performance, as well as researching and analysing our competitors' strategies. You'll also execute landing page tests, collect and analyst data and results, and identify trends and insights. As our SEO specialist for the UK, you'll develop and implement our link building strategy (but don't be alarmed if you've not done this before - we'll be there to support you). You'll work closely with our development teams to make sure that SEO best practices are implemented properly, and you'll liaise with our wider editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation. You'll be genuinely listened to, too; if you recommend a change to our website architecture, content, linking etc, if it will improve SEO positions for target keywords then we'll give it a go!
Key skills we need:
We're a team full of energy and with a passion for what we do, so it's key that you're enthusiastic, driven and keen to be part of a team. What else do you need in order to succeed in this role?
- A love of all things digital marketing
- Experience of SEO (this could be a university placement year)
- You're passionate about travel
- Ideally, you'll have had some experience of working within leisure/travel, but this isn't a show stopper.
Equally as important as all the technical "stuff", we're looking for someone who is hungry to learn, irrespective of their seniority. We don't believe in standing still (we work in travel, after all), but instead think that everyone should be learning, all the time. Whether it's a new piece of software, an industry event or a mentoring opportunity, we will support you to grow your skillset.
If you're excited by working in a fast paced environment, are obsessed by all things customer and want to join us on our journey, we'd love to chat.
What we'll give you
- This is an opportunity for you to join us at a pivotal point in time as we invest in our future
- You'll be joining a team of genuine, passionate people
- You'll have the freedom to decide on the best way of working to get the job done. We work cross-functionally, so you'll be given opportunities to develop skills outside of your core skillset.
- You'll be an integral part of a team which will deliver growth, and who doesn't want that?
We offer a great salary and fantastic benefits; we're all about holidays, so we practise what we preach and offer some great travel discounts. We offer flexible working hours and remote working, too.
What else do you need to know?
Our brand new, City Centre office is super central, with great transport links. We're in a really cool part of town, with plenty of coffee shops, bars and leisure activities just a short stroll away (after all, we don't expect all work and no play).
We want to make the application process as stress-free as possible, so typically we'll have an informal chat with you on the phone, followed by a comprehensive interview over Teams, where you'll have a chance to find out a bit more about the exciting things we're doing (and maybe tell us what we're doing wrong).
We believe in equal opportunities and aim to create a team that is representative of our society, knowing that embracing differences enhances the capabilities of our business and makes for a happy place to work. We are proud to recognise and celebrate that we have a diverse culture where employees are accepted for who they are, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or ability.
