A successful consumer brand based in Liverpool is recruiting an Assistant Junior Buyer to join their Buying team. You'll work closely with Junior Buyers to ensure departments achieve sales, stock and margin targets through development of the product range.

Key Responsibilities:

Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with Far East supplier base, attending and contributing to meetings as and when required.

Plan and carry out shopping and benchmarking trips, identifying opportunities with Junior Buyer in regards to prices, range width, gaps or over-ranging, equipment, POS & VM.

Also file quotes, test reports & request samples, build item cards, and make sure the buying process and critical path is followed.

Managing and amending quality reports

Update information onto system for product changes

Keep showroom samples up to date

Sending samples to customers

After sale enquiries & spare parts

Supporting the Junior Buyer's role and focusing attention on NPD (new product development).

Able to analyse online data and trends, market research

Skills Required:

Degree in Buying or Merchandising

Must have some experience working in a similar Junior Buying role

Experience of working in a buying administration role would be preferred

Experience of working in fmcg/consumer goods/consumer products/retail environment is preferred

Flexible and willing to work across several categories

Strong Microsoft office skills, ie word, excel, powerpoint

Company Benefits:

Salary up to £23k

Hours 8.30am-5pm office based
