What part can you play in making a difference?
. As the Web Development Manager, you will act as a technical authority for the business providing advice and support on website best practices, over see code reviews, write well designed, testable and efficient code, create test documentation, manage and maintain webservers, plan and implement deployment processes, upgrade legacy code and propose and plan new website technologies to enhance customer experience.
. You will gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs, actively collaborate with business analysts to provide technical insight during the analysis phase and collaborate with tech authors to create and maintain software documentation.
. Within the role you will also be responsible for fulfilling line management responsibilities such as approving leave requests, resource planning, conducting annual reviews and other performance appraisals, completing necessary admin to support these tasks. Participating in the recruitment process as required, including liaising with Senior Management, internal recruitment function and conducting/leading interviews as well as mentoring junior team members.
. Importantly you will have knowledge of core business systems and processes to ensure websites integrate seamlessly.
What do we need from you?
. You will be able to show an ability to work with and update legacy code, an understanding of MVC frameworks and of source code management and the code release process
. You will bring experience in implementing and embedding Agile ways of working, CI/CD principles and deployment to the cloud (AWS or Azure)
. A Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification plus 5 years' experience in a web development role.
. At least 2 years' experience in a management role
. You must also have experience in implementing secure payment gateways for high volume online payments.
