Director of NHS Assure

Location - Meridian Court, Glasgow/Gyle Square, Edinburgh
We are looking for an inspirational, highly experienced leader who will provide strong and dynamic leadership on the development, implementation and ongoing management of NHS Scotland Assure.
This is an exciting new service being set up and delivered by NHS National Services Scotland with the primary aim of improving and reducing the risks associated with major healthcare construction projects across NHS Scotland. NHS Scotland Assure's core purpose is to deliver and co-ordinate a diverse range of effective expert advice and support services in relation to national infection prevention control, construction, equipping and technical matters which support and improve health and well-being services. Formed in 2021 it encompasses the previous services delivered by Health Facilities Scotland (HFS) and ARHAI Scotland, supplementing these with an integrated approach to improving quality in the healthcare environment and recognised as the Centre of Expertise across all related disciplines.
You will provide strategic leadership at a National level across NHS Scotland and to the Scottish Government and strong and effective leadership and management to a multi-disciplinary team of subject matter experts who provide support and advice on a diverse and complex range of infection prevention control, effective antimicrobial management, property, hard and soft facilities and building management, environmental and capital planning services. You will also lead on a strategic approach in the planning, management and delivery of strategic objectives and will establish a dynamic corporate culture across the organisation that reflects the innovative, creative, influential and relationship focused nature of NSS across NHS Scotland and the wider public sector.
A highly effective leader of people you will have excellent communication and influencing skills in order to influence others and to direct the implementation of change. You will build strong relationships, across the NHS Scotland and with senior officials of external organisations across Public Sector bodies in Scotland. Several areas of operation are sensitive and high risk with a wide variety of regulators requiring effective engagement. Strong presentation skills are required, as is the ability to express views and perspectives convincingly, coherently and compellingly using a variety of media.
Educated to degree level, you will have a proven leadership ability at a senior management level in a multidisciplinary environment over a significant number of years and experience of delivery in an NHS or industry environment. You will have the ability to transform strategy, focusing on continually improving outcomes for customers, patients and other stakeholders.
