ILS Manager

Would you like to play a key role as a Functional Manager (FUM) for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Field Service and Training within the Engineering Discipline? We currently have a vacancy for a ILS Manager at our site in Rochester.

As a ILS Manager, you will be responsible for the performance and compensation of Individual Contributors within their function, providing the resources necessary to support the skills identified by a project. This role requires the management of the Engineering Logistics, Customer Training, Field Service and potentially the Technical Publications teams and the services they provide to both internal and external customers. The role is supported by Leads for each of the sub-disciplines.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to travel to international customers and UK sites and manage those interfaces. Locations include Saudi, Bahrain and Various RAF sites where you will be involved with developing the strategy on how to support the product within the field. You will strengthen the connection with the design teams - acting as the voice of the customer to add context to the design team and bring the design specs to life.

Your main responsibilities as a ILS Manager will involve:

Leading a team of 26 engineers, you will have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform a range of related activities including:

Resource Management

Define expectations for employee's behaviour, ethics

Performance, welfare and compensation management

Time and Expense approvals

Develop, mentor and produce training plans

Bid Support and Approvals for the group

Management of BAE personnel into Overseas and UK deployments and Field Service support contracts and opportunities

Maintaining QA Audit requirements for each discipline

Management of current and future Integrated Support strategies / opportunities and Business Continuity

Providing and maintaining functional processes, policies, procedures, and best practices

Providing functional expertise and consultation as needed (including budget and schedule)

Managing department budgets (Training, overhead, etc)

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Related engineering qualification or equivalent experience

Must have previous ILS engineering experience

Good background and or experience in suitable engineering discipline

Senior leader stakeholder management experience

Experience of developing and coaching people

People management - First line leadership experience

Desirable:

Experience in Project Management skills would be beneficial to the role

Experience of customer training and field service deployments

Bids and Estimating experience
