Come and help us make a real difference for those living with heart and circulatory disease, as well as helping to prevent this in the first place.
About the role
We have an exciting job opportunity for an experienced Senior Cardiac Nurse to be part of our friendly and dynamic Clinical team, working 21 hours a week on Monday, Thursday and one other day.
You'll be a source of professional knowledge on the causes and management of heart and circulatory disease for all across the British Heart Foundation (BHF); playing a key role in developing resources for the public, working on public awareness and fundraising campaigns, as well as responding to enquiries from the public and media and supporting our Heart Helpline.
This is an excellent opportunity where you'll receive full training to acquire new skills and professionally develop in a supportive learning environment, utilising your clinical knowledge and experience in a non-clinical setting.
You'll be an NMC registered nurse with extensive cardiac nursing experience in secondary and/or primary care.
You'll have an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including stroke and vascular dementia, as well as lifestyle issues relating to coronary heart disease, and share our drive and determination to beat heartbreak forever.
Having previously studied at degree level (6) and able to prove the same you'll have strong critical analysis skills and extensive current or recent clinical experience as a cardiac nurse in secondary and/or primary care, working in heart failure, and/or congenital heart disease services is an advantage.
With excellent communication and writing skills you'll be able to communicate medical information as well as undertake a literature review and translate findings from research into lay terms.
This post is 21 hours a week over three days, to include Monday and Thursday.
