Technical Product Manager - Consumer Apps

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to assist with day-to-day operations, planning and delivery for our Consumer facing apps and resource. You will be liaising between multiple suppliers and internal stakeholders, technically aware and solutions driven. The role would be ideal for a Development Manager, who would like to keep hands on in terms of technical design and detail in implementation

Main Responsibilities:
  • Source of expertise for technical projects and strategic direction across our portfolio of consumer facing apps
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for senior stakeholders in the event of a high severity incident
  • Prioritising the flow of work into Product Owners/Scrum Masters, against pre-defined business priorities - plotting the sequencing and dependencies
  • Being able to define the problem, that all products in the consumer facing apps portfolio intends to solve
  • Key stakeholder on the overall Technical Board, and able to plot out a technical strategy/vision which enables the rapid expansion of consumer facing apps across a variety of ecosystems built with varying programming languages/frameworks
  • Working with delivery and resource management teams, to ensure that teams are appropriately resourced based on projected demand

Skills & Experience you will need:
  • A relevant degree, with 3 or more years experience in a Development Manager or technically focused Product Manager role
  • A proven track record, in guiding discussions and providing clear, timely information to senior stakeholders
  • Experience delivering apps across both Android and iOS devices, in a high pace environment, encouraging rapid iterative change
  • An understanding of developing apps using languages/frameworks such as Swift, Java, Kotlin, Flutter, React Native
  • A good understanding of technical concepts and cloud computing
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience with Agile working concepts and practices
  • Experience recruiting, managing and developing agile teams across multiple sites
  • Familiar with e-commerce concepts and the full customer journey
  • Passionate about the web and mobile, and discovering the latest technologies and products
  • A strong communicator, fluent in English with the ability to explain concepts in a jargon free manner that are sometimes confusing to people who may or may not be technically minded
  • A proactive, collaborative, positive, flexible, forward thinking attitude, with a high performance mentality and striving to find the best solution constantly

Additional Information:

You will be part of the Multi Channel Transactional Systems Team at our offices in Manchester or Bury. The role is office based, primarily weekdays 9am to 5:30pm
