This is a Kickstarter Scheme position (candidate must be on, or have applied for, Universal Credit).We are an online EdTech provider, with a unique platform (SchoolOnline.co.uk) that offers video-based tuition in English and Maths at GCSE and KS2 level. It is our mission as a company to level the educational playing field by ensuring all students have access to top-quality tuition.

The Social Media Manager will fully support SchoolOnline.co.uk's marketing strategy and execute it in different phases across all major social media channels including organic and paid as well as researching, creating and curating engaging content to post on a regular basis, reporting to our Head of Marketing.

As an EdTech start-up now in our growth phase, we have an extensive strategy of marketing activities and channels. Building awareness in our target customer base and increasing the visibility of the company is critical to our strategy, and building an effective organic social media following is a key part of this.

Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, the Social Media Manager will have ownership of implementing our social media strategy as part of a small, flat structured team where everyone's input is valued.

The Social Media Manager will be expected to perform the following type of activities
  • Schedule daily content to go out across all of our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Interact daily across all channels with our target audience, ensuring a growing follower base and growing levels of impressions and interactions
  • Research relevant content to post across our channels
  • Design graphics to accompany social media posts
  • Stay up to date with changes in social media offerings
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting on social media reach
  • Perform regular reviews of our social media strategy and make recommendations for adjustments to ensure relevance and reach

This role will initially require working from home.

Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Google suite (slides, sheets)
  • Excellent communication skills with a high standard of written English
  • Marketing experience/educational background a plus but not required
  • Experience in social media marketing
  • Graphic design experience a plus
