Technical Product Owner Backend, eCommerce, Domain Names Registry

Our client based in central London (but with flexible working) are a global business going through a very exciting period of expediential growth at the moment. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who comes from a technical background perhaps a developer that wants to progress to Product Owner or Product Manager.

You will be an expert in creating modern web user interfaces and customer-facing APIs that are a delight to use.

Looking for a Technical Product Owner someone who is experienced in modern software development, with a high degree of experience in the domain name industry. You must already possess a good working knowledge of the EPP, RDAP and WHOIS protocols, as well as a full understanding of domain lifecycles, the steps to migrate between registry backend providers and how DNSSEC works at a granular level.

Your skills in mentoring will help them develop the staff in your squad, both in Agile/Lean processes, as well as technical skills.

You will work to understand the customer needs and translate these and their business roadmap into backlog items for development and see these through to production. Breaking big challenges into small chunks of deliverable value will be second nature to you, as is creating simple and elegant solutions to complex problems. Driving full ownership of the Registry Backend technical estate and operations, you will enable your squad to succeed in delivering an outstanding service to our clients customers.

Useful Technical experience

·Prior experience in the domain name industry.

·Knowledge of EPP, RDAP and WHOIS protocols.

·An understanding of the TLD migration process for both registry operations and DNS, including ICANN operations.

·In-depth understanding of DNSSEC.

·Understanding of Python

·Working knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB.

·The ability to build strong customer relationships.

·Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, code quality controls and security.
