You will have an excellent understanding of the power of both structured and informal peer support and experience in managing such programmes and activities both face-to-face and online to help us grow our offer and reach. You will enjoy and be skilful at building strategic relationships with external partners that help us to reach out to people living with diabetes and increase awareness and understanding of the diabetes. You will manage the Volunteer Support Officer and ensure appropriate systems and processes are in place and adhered to. You will work closely with our Local Groups, communities and volunteers in support of our strategy, supporting them to reach and connect safely and effectively with people, healthcare systems and stakeholders in their local areas. You will establish and build on external partnerships with corporates and community organisations that enable us to reach out and engage with identified key audiences in the region. You will be confident and skilled at organising and delivering talks, training and events to diverse audiences in a face-to-face and online environment, and in supporting and enabling others to do so too. You will also be responsible for developing, delivering and growing our online structured peer support offer, as well as our informal peer support offer. Ideal CandidateAs Volunteering and Outreach Manager you will have a strong sense of team combined with an ability to stand on one's own feet. You will be passionate about facilitating and enabling the involvement of people with diabetes in our work. You will believe firmly in our vision and strategy. You will have an excellent understanding of, and respect for what motivates people to volunteer and the important role volunteering and peer support plays in enabling us to achieve our vision. You will be an excellent communicator, skilled in volunteer management; relationship building; project management; event organisation; facilitation and delivering training. You will have an ability to see the bigger picture and think strategically alongside an understanding of how to measure and evaluate the impact of our work to ensure it is making a difference.
