Falkirk Council and Falkirk Community Trust currently applies a living wage supplement to all employees earning less than £9.50 per hour. The value of the living wage supplement is subject to regular review by the Council and the Trust, is non-contractual and can be changed at any time.
As a Kelpies Guide/Retail Assistant you will have a passion for great customer service and will provide a 5 star customer experience for all visitors to The Helix.
You will provide an engaging and entertaining tour of The Kelpies, showing your passion and interest in the subject throughout. You will also assist with selling, re-stocking and merchandising of our retail range, sharing your knowledge of the products on sale. You will share your knowledge of The Helix, Falkirk area and be an ambassador for Scotland, providing information that will assist our visitors as they move around The Helix and/or beyond. Additional to these main tasks you will perform general administrative duties including taking telephone enquiries.
Previous experience as a Tour Guide and/or Retail Assistant would be desirable but is not essential. Ultimately, we are looking for individuals who display a positive attitude, are passionate, organised and can successfully work as part of a team. A strong willingness to learn is also critical.
The position is 22.5 hours per week which is averaged across a 4 week rota.
This post is temporary until October 2021 due to service requirement.
