Are you a talented and ambitious senior leader starting to think about your next long term role? Are you looking to add some impactful whole school leadership to your CV? Are you able to inspire others, enabling pupils to get the very best results?

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to try a new role in an outstanding single form entry school. The role is to cover the maternity leave of our substantive Deputy Head for a fixed term one-year period. As Interim Deputy Headteacher, you will support the work of the Headteacher in moving the school through the next stage in its development, as we work towards maintaining our Outstanding status, post Covid, under the new Ofsted framework.

The right candidate for this role will be:
  • An experienced senior leader looking for a challenge in their next role
  • Keen to develop their leadership skills in a new and exciting role
  • Have the motivation to develop and lead exciting curriculum improvements
  • An Outstanding practitioner who is passionate about developing others and able to lead by example

Within this crucial and varied role we are looking for a leader who can confidently:
  • Work with the Senior Leadership team to continue to develop our school's wider curriculum
  • Hold strategic leadership for Assessment
  • Lead on the learning and development of our student teachers, working alongside Teach in Kent
  • Hold stategic leadership of Maths
  • Be part of our Designated Safeguarding team
  • Support the headteacher in the day to day running and development of our wonderful school

Offham Primary is a highly successful rural school with 7 classes and is located approximately 3 miles from the town of West Malling. The school serves a supportive community of children and parents, who are enthusiastic about learning and leading their school. We are have a keen interest in outdoor learning and future environmental sustainability.

We have an attractive school site with large classrooms and a dedicated outdoor learning area for Years 1 and 2. Our school is well equipped in all aspects of the curriculum with our own woodland school base and mini buses to use for trips. There is a very supportive PTA and Governing Body. Innovative teaching and traditional values are combined to give children an excellent primary education.
