The Talent Set are helping the team find a talented Digital Communications Officer to create exceptional digital content in a highly visible role, supporting with the management of their editorial calendar.
This is a great opportunity for somebody who is a fantastic writer with excellent knowledge of digital content and writing for digital audiences, who perhaps has an interest to develop their skills in accessible content and content design, and/or training and upskilling team members.
Key responsibilities include:
Act as the editorial lead for the website blog, to include creating, curating and managing the calendar for blog content, auditing performance and optimising to engage audiences
Spot new opportunities for blog reach to be increased, working with the Digital Marketing & Analytics Manager to add new links and terms to PPC, and the Social Media Manager to add content to organic social channels.
Create and deliver engaging and shareable content to show the impact that Action for Children has on young people's lives, across all digital channels and to champion user-centric thinking, ensuring colleagues think about audiences and apply analysis and insight when developing business goals and activities.
Train and upskill staff across the organisation on digital content best practice and tool-based training - including writing for the website, uploading content on the CMS, accessibility standards and SEO - to produce audience-centred content that drives support for Action for Children.
Coordinate activity with the Social Media and Media teams to align messaging and spot opportunities for newsworthy or trending content, relevant to Action for Children, to increase our influence and impact.
Set, review and report on KPIs relevant to digital content - including engagement and reach metrics on the website - and develop a plan to test and optimise content so that we can engage more supporters and compel them to act.
Continually improve and develop the Action for Children website via our Content Governance programme, through liaison with stakeholders, maintaining existing content, reviewing and approving content uploaded by colleagues, planning and delivering new content and content changes.
Work with the technical development of the website and its content management system, our digital agency and the Digital Platform Manager, to enhance and improve our digital offering to supporters.
Ensure content is as accessible as possible, meeting the organisation's agreed reading age, to help us to be inclusive and allow a greater understanding of our work to help children.
Conduct user testing to learn more about the way our audiences engage with content, and optimise work to be as user-friendly as possible, driving an increase in engagement and income.
