Cramond Primary School Nursery

Salary: £22,129 - £26,393 (pro-rata for sessional 39 weeks)
Hours: 36 per week (Mondays-Thursdays 8:15-16:30, Fridays 8:15-13:15) 39 weeks per year

We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Years Practitioner at Cramond Nursery where we are looking for a highly motivated person to join our solutions focused team.

Our ethos at Cramond is to promote a caring and creative environment where excellence can thrive. We are a non-denominational school built in 1975. Our school serves the village of Cramond and the surrounding areas of northwest Edinburgh. We are part of the Royal High School cluster and work closely with the other associated primaries of Blackhall, Clermiston and Davidson's Mains. Our school roll is over 400 pupils, of which nursery has a capacity of 50 children between 3-5years of age.

Our nursery children are all full-time, full-week, term-time. Additionally, we work closely with the Forest Kindergarten team with whom we offer a blended approach (pre and anti Covid) for children at the nearby Lauriston Castle which is supported by staff from the forest team as well as staff from Cramond. With this in mind, any applicants for this position would benefit from a love of outdoors, as within Cramond there are large parts of our experience and role which feature prolonged periods of outdoor education.

The post holder must have an HNC in childcare or equivalent and be able to demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in an early year's educational establishment. Hold SSSC registration as a practitioner.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals
