We're looking for a Head of R&D UK who will head up our retail banking strategic definition and implementation across our R&D department. You will report centrally to the Group Head of R&D for our dedicated market solutions globally.

This is an excellent opportunity to oversee the research and development of our key retail banking products within the UK and overseeing their delivery to our market.

As Head of R&D you will be responsible for all the following aspects:

·Strategic definition and implementation for the business unit in line with the global Sopra Banking Software strategy and more specifically of the global R&D.

·Transform the business unit and the delivery model to follow the global transformation plan for R&D:

oStrategy : A strong R&D center collaborating with a high level of maturity with a strong product center off shore.

oTactical: by implementing a state of the art R&D through modern methodologies (Agility), industrialization and automation

·You have a budget responsibility for which you will ensure monthly budget forecast and closure in line with agreed year budget in an accurate way. Take all necessary action to keep control of this budget while ensuring product deliveries are met on time with quality

·You have full responsibility of the R&D team in the UK from in terms of role definition, collaboration, team motivation, career evolution,

·Manage R&D and take full responsibility of the final deliveries of our product to our clients (quality, budget/cost, scope and planning). Optimize the overall process to increase performance, quality and ownership of the deliveries.

·Implement a continuous improvement and innovation spirit in your department and teams taking into account the reality of our market and client expectations (internal and external)

·Your role and leadership in the collaboration between UK and Sopra Banking Software Internationally is key : take all necessary action to ensure we act as one motivated team.

·Be the link between R&D and the different stakeholders (Professional Services, Sales, Clients) and ensure optimal alignment and collaboration between all parties.

·Detect new business opportunities and manage the client relationship from an R&D perspective.
We're interested in hearing from you, if:
·You've defined and implemented strategies for R&D departments

·You have experienced in Agile working methodology

·You have managed a departmental / business unit budget with monthly and yearly forecasting

·You have previous management experience for a large R&D team

·You have experience managing multiple key stakeholders both internally, internationally, and external clients.
