Working as part of a small finance team, the Assistant Accountant position is a newly created role as a result of a change in Finance Leadership and will suit either a Part Qualified Accountant looking to further accelerate their career or an experienced Assistant Accountant looking for a new challenge.

The role reports directly to the General Manager with main duties including:

· Production of monthly management accounts

· Overseeing the purchase ledger and sales ledger functions

· Balance sheet reconciliations

· Submission of VAT returns

· Bank reconciliations

· Production of daily and weekly performance statistics for the business

· Preparation of forecasts and budgets

· Fulfilling Group reporting requirements

· Production of annual statutory accounts

· Assisting with external and internal audits

· Driving continuous improvement within the Finance Team, with strong focus on Lean principles

· Positive attitude, with a solution focussed, 'can do' approach

· At least 2 years' experience within a similar finance role

· Motivated and committed, with good self-discipline and strong attention to detail

· Strong IT skills, including intermediate/advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel

· The ability to work to tight deadlines

· Excellent communication skills

Salary £22,000 - £28,000 per annum dependent on experience.
