DWP. Digital with Purpose.

DWP is the largest government department. We provide services and support to over 22 million people, and make payments worth over £195bn every year. There are over 110,000 colleagues and agents working with us and, right now, helping us lead the response to Covid-19.

We're driven by an extraordinary purpose. In DWP Digital we're transforming the products and services we deliver to make them work better for the people who need them.

And our pension offer is amazing - with circa 27% contributions from your employer - so you're working towards a better future for you and your family while you're helping to create better futures for millions of others in the UK.

We also want to ensure our people have a really good work/life balance. You'll enjoy the benefits of flexible working, including flexi time which means you can manage how and when you work and also take extra days off.

Development. Work. Projects.

We're looking for experienced Senior Solution Architects to join and help drive forward our dynamic team working with DWP's Payments Service.

This critical role is ideally suited, but is also as great development opportunity, to an architect with preferably knowledge and experience of Payments and the Banking Industry, Open Banking, Payment Services Directive (PSD2), PCI DSS, and New Payments Architecture.

Duties. Work. Projects.

We want you to own the Payments product architecture, develop product roadmaps and represent product designs at DWP governance forums

As a champion of solution communication, you will make the complex simple to understand in support of delivery teams.

You'll be designing technical solutions (products and services) that meet user needs and align with our technical strategy and standards. You'll be the person that gives a consistent set of solution views, to communicate and describe the construction of our solutions to all stakeholders.

This is the largest of projects and initiatives and we are looking for you to lead and deliver the technical and architecture design elements. You'll collaborate with engineering teams, policy, finance, and other digital stakeholders, to create VFM solution designs.

Your standard will be to identify and implement architecture patterns, ensure technical quality and make sure solution designs adhere the DWP Digital Blueprint, Enterprise Architecture and Product Roadmaps.

You'll also have a role as an expert voice, leading across our brilliant architecture community, the wider Digital Group and beyond.
