Exciting opportunity for a Content and PR Manager in a financial services organisation located in Edinburgh.
Your new company
This company is committed to transforming financial services and creating better outcomes for their advisors and their clients. It is this purpose that drives everything they do. Whether you are working in a role that is client facing or not, you'll need to be service obsessed to work for this organisation.
It's a fast paced and exciting environment, and one where you will get the chance to fulfil your potential and do work that really matters, to you and their clients. They believe in you having your own chunk of responsibility and being trusted to make things happen.
Your new role
The content and PR manager is responsible for planning, developing and managing all press and public relations activity for the company and creating meaningful, relevant and insightful content for re-purpose across the business. This content will feature as either articles or on their online knowledge centre for which daily content is created and curated, in-depth thought leadership content and white papers, press articles, blogs, email marketing or social media stories.
Key to this role will be the ability to proactively seek out and to react rapidly to daily events and unfolding industry issues important to our user community in order to create timely online and offline content and press stories that position this organisation at the leading edge of debate, always topical and relevant. The range of communications channels, audiences and types of stories will require a variety of writing styles which should all adhere to the company's brand and tone of voice.
To ensure the organisation is on the front foot, this role will require a degree of regular travel throughout the UK (once out of the current Covid-19 situation) to events, industry events, regional meetings and adviser offices and an investigative mind to get to the root of a story rather than simply scratch the surface
What you'll need to succeed
Proven track record of developing and delivering successful content and PR campaigns that resulted in tangible business results within financial services. You will have journalism and content writing experience and excellent writing skills with the ability to translate complex technical issues into interesting and relevant stories for a diverse audience. Have a strong knowledge of financial promotion principles and processes in respect of press and online content creation.
You're the type of person who asks great questions to understand expectations but can react like lightening to solve problems as they occur. With a relentless curiosity, you'll love getting under the skin of issues within our industry to create or curate content that's not superficial but instead gets to the heart of the issue and can generate and sustain interest and debate. You'll set the bar high on performance even when stretching for the team, part of a team environment where high performance is the norm.
What you'll get in return
You will be paid an attractive salary of £55,000 to £65,000 and rewarded with 25 days annual leave plus 9 bank holidays, a 10% non-contributory pension, up to 10% annual bonus, private medical insurance and life insurance.
Regular social events and fortnightly get togethers (virtual for now!), opportunity for full study support for relevant professional qualifications and extra annual leave days on your 3rd, 5th and 7th anniversary!
