Central Employment's Commercial team are working in partnership with a long standing Law Firm based in North Tyneside, as they look to recruit a Paralegal, joining their busy first response team.

Purpose of the Paralegal role:

To take initial instructions and complete subsequent related tasks before file is assigned to a fee-earner, working alongside the First Response Team Leader.
  • Processing initial file set-up
  • Initial attendances with the client, extracting all relevant information
  • Preparation and submission of claims
  • Extensive contact with clients, referrers and external agencies
  • Instructing engineers, hire and medical agencies
  • Assessing liability and/or an awareness of knowing when it should be referred to the FRU Team Leader
  • Deciding on suitability of claim for the portal or if letters of claim should be drafted
  • Overall ownership of a case until such a time that it is passed over to the fee-earner
  • Professional and timely pass-over to fee-earners
  • To do all such other things which are, in the reasonable opinion of the firm, ancillary, necessary or conductive to the role and responsibilities outlined above

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
  • Desire and enthusiasm for a career in law is essential
  • Legal experience/knowledge is desirable
