Your New Job Title: Mandarin Chinese speaking Senior Officer - Green Finance Research

The Skills You'll Need: Fluent Mandarin and English, Demonstrable experience working in ESG or Green Finance related sector, e.g. TCFD disclosure etc., a track record of knowledge of climate change/energy/environment policy, understanding of key climate change science and how it links to business value and risks to the bank, ability to identify market opportunities and risks in support of ESG/Green Finance development, proven understanding of the international regulatory environment associated with climate change and green finance activities, with particular focus on the banking environment

What You'll be Doing Each Day:
  • To support HoD as coordinator of the Bank's Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) working group
  • To conduct ESG research and support the development of ESG/Green Finance
  • To support HoD to communicate and support the Head Office in promoting ESG/Green Finance development
  • Conduct research on peer practices, market experience, international standards, etc., of ESG/Green Finance
  • Deliver regular analysis and updates of ESG/Green Finance related policy, market trends and market activities
  • Communicate and cooperate with the Head Office in conducting ESG/Green Finance research projects
  • Any other work allocated by the Head Office, EMC members and HoD in ESG/Green Finance.
  • Support the Bank's ESG working group in establishing and developing the ESG/Green Finance development strategy
  • Coordinate the daily operation of the Bank's ESG working group
  • Arrange regular and ad hoc special ESG working group meeting
  • Organise seminars and workshops within the Bank to enhance ESG understanding and improve ESG awareness
  • Work with the Bank's key working groups in the assessment of ESG related risks and opportunities for the Bank
  • Work with key working groups and assist in the preparation of ESG related disclosure and reporting
  • Promote international cooperation in the Bank's ESG/Green Finance development
  • Explore collaborative opportunities with local think tanks, leading universities, and consultancies to improve expertise in ESG/Green Finance and promote Green Finance practices.
  • Maintain communications and exchanges with external ESG/Green Finance related organisations

The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Demonstrable experience working in ESG or Green Finance related sector, e.g. TCFD disclosure etc.
  • Track record of knowledge of climate change/energy/environment policy, understanding of key climate change science and how it links to business value and risks to the bank.
  • Ability to identify market opportunities and risks in support of ESG/Green Finance development
  • Proven understanding of the international regulatory environment associated with climate change and green finance activities, with particular focus on the banking environment
  • Existing network of contacts in the ESG related organisation would be desirable.
  • Proven experience of communicating and influencing internal and external stakeholders, with an ability to summarise sophisticated analysis into high quality briefings and presentations
  • Bilingual in Mandarin and English
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Hardworking, dedicated and self-motivated.
  • Able to multi-task, work to tight deadlines and operate under pressure
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong team-playing skills, enabling effective relationships within the department and the ability to work seamlessly across departments

Job status: Perm.

Start date: ASAP

Working hours: 9-5 with flexibility when required.
