Installation Engineer

Location: Staplehurst, Kent
Salary: £30K - £35K per annum, DOE
Hours: 8.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, some late or weekend work required
Contract: Full time, Permanent

We are the leading specialists in the manufacture of bespoke Mumetal magnetic shielding and the supply of Mumetal sheet, foil and bar, our customer base extends throughout the UK, Europe, the USA and Asia

Our manufacturing facility, based in Kent, is fully equipped with the latest technology to provide our customers with the highest level of service and quality

Due to our continued growth and expansion, we now have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our installation team as our Installation Engineer

About the Installation Engineer role:

As our Installation Engineer you will work as a key member of the installation team on customer sites throughout the UK and abroad, in all aspects of constructing our multi-layered shielded rooms

Typical installation sites are medical facilities, research institutes and Universities with install times varying from several weeks to months depending on the size of the project

This role would suit someone with a strong background within an engineering / installation / maintenance environment and be able to work to a very high standard from drawings, 3D CAD models and verbal instruction

In addition to this you will be responsible for:
  • Working hands-on, active role as part of the installation team constructing Magnetically Shielded Rooms
  • Assisting in all aspects of the installation sequence
  • Delivering high quality work to tight tolerances and specifications
  • Delivering high quality workmanship and finishing
  • Assisting with general maintenance duties at MSL during any periods between site installations

In order to be successful in this role you must have:
  • Experience in an engineering / installation or maintenance environment
  • Willingness to work away from home for extended periods in both the UK and abroad
  • Team-worker
  • Full driving licence and valid passport
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Professional manner and appearance
  • Flexibility to work extended/unsociable hours if required

It would be great if you had:
  • Sheet metal experience
  • MEWP experience/Licence
  • Counterbalance/ Reach Truck Licence
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring
  • Good knowledge of current health & safety practices
  • Good organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise own workload well
  • Clear communication skills at all levels, written and verbal
  • Confidence, enthusiasm, self-motivation and determination
