SATEDAs vision is to end domestic abuse, enabling people to end the cycle of domestic abuse with education, support and advocate for victims of domestic abuse and their families. Through one to one support, drop in and one stop shop provision, counselling, freedom programme and follow group programmes, support2court project, a telephone call back system and an employability programme, we strive to offer a service which increases choices and gives victims a voice – enabling them to live a life free from fear.
The charity are looking for new trustees to join their committed and dynamic board. The new Trustees will assist the strategic development of a fast growing organisation and will work closely with the main Board of SATEDA to spearhead the development of the new CIC.

SATEDA will be creating a new Community Interest Company (CIC) which will be named SATEDA Trading. This will be a trading subsidiary which will be governed by SATEDA Ltd, and will share 1/3 of the SATEDA Ltd main trustee board.
We are looking for two trustees, with business start up experience, charity retail and/or marketing and advertising background.
This will be an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys developing brand new initiatives – if you are enthused by making things happen and would like to be involved in a journey from the very beginning, this could be the voluntary role for you.
- The ideal candidate would have a marketing/PR/communications, business start up, entrepreneurship and/or retail backgrounds in either corporate or charity sector contexts or both
- Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties and responsibilities of being a Trustee
- Ability to deal with the challenges of long term planning
- Have an understanding of the charity sector
- Commitment to the organisation
- Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Experience of being a trustee is ideal but not essential
The Board meets quarterly at a time agreed by the majority of the Board. The Trustees are also required to attend one annual away day. The meetings will take place predominantly on Teams, with an annual away day taking place at a physical location. There are subcommittees the trustee can join voluntarily – these committees will mostly meet online.
