We are in the process of developing a digital ‘Workwise’ programme to compliment the wide range of services we offer our residents. One of the key features of our digital programme is an online portal, developed on Microsoft’s Azure platform, to enable residents to self-serve by accessing a range of online services anywhere, anytime.

The Lead QA Automation Tester Role:

A proven and experienced Lead Quality Assurance/Tester, you will be pivotal in developing and maintaining our flagship digital platform; transforming our ways of working and customer experience.

Reporting to the Head of Software Engineering, working in an agile way, you will lead a small team of Quality Assurance/Testers to assure the quality of the code we promote into our live environment. You will be responsible for defining our quality management system including the strategies, plans and policies, required creating that each developed piece of software is fully functional, fit for purpose and in-keeping with the high standards of the business and bespoke systems.

You will have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills in order to feed back to the team to reach a resolution in a timely manner. The end result being our in-house and customer facing systems work correctly in line with business needs through use of manual, automated, UAT and regression testing. You will consult with developers, testing team and project management, thorough examinations of documentation and specifications, and meticulous examination of the developed software.

As a technical lead, you will use your technical & digital experience along with your ability to build relationships to drive real change and innovation.

About You:

+ Proven experience of leading a team of QA/Testers.
+ Experience of working on full life cycle implementations across multiple projects
+ Strong Agile delivery experience (ideally Scrum or Kanban)
+ A desire to deliver software of the highest quality
+ Logical and methodical thinking and application of test cases and scenarios.
+ Experience and knowledge of writing and working with automated test tools (C# Postman, Jenkins, BDD – SpecFlow, Selenium etc.)
+ Experience in testing React/Redux and .NET
+ Experience of testing Microsoft Azure cloud applications
+ An understanding of data migration, transformation and scripting
+ A proven track record of functional testing at various levels such as: Integration Testing, Smoke Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Interface Testing / Usability Testing, System Testing, API Testing, and Regression Testing
+ Expertise in manual, automated and regression testing implementation and usage
+ Proven experience in using SQL to interrogate data within a database
+ Experience with API testing and specifically using Postman and SoapUI
+ Passion for discovering and solving in all areas of technology
+ Ability to manage and prioritise workload
+ Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
+ Experience of mentoring Junior/Mid-level developers

Skills:

+Testing tools (Postman, Jenkins, BDD – SpecFlow, Selenium etc.)
+ JS frameworks such as React, Redux, Bootstrap, and JQuery; and an understanding of HTML and CSS
+ C#, .NET, Web API/RESTful API, and JSON
+ Azure for DevOps (VSTS)
+ SQL 2012, 2104, NoSQL (CosmosDB ) and Oracle
+ Distributed source control i.e. GIT
+ Microsoft Azure SQL Database
+ Atlassian suite of applications i.e. Confluence, Jira, Lucid Charts.
+ Data migration, transformation and scripting
+ Excellent organisational and analytical abilities
+ Outstanding problem solver
+ Good written and verbal communication skills
+ A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer
+ Engineering or relevant field.
