Applications are welcomed for the post of Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO)/Director of Clinical Improvement at the OUH. This is a key role in the Chief Medical Officer's leadership team, working collaboratively with the DCMO/Director of Medical Workforce and DCMO/Director of Safety and Effectiveness. All three post-holders will be expected to support the entire portfolio when required. The Chief Medical Officer will arrange for these portfolios to be rotated to facilitate professional development and succession planning.
The DCMO/Director of Clinical Improvement role supports the delivery of the Trust's strategic goals by providing leadership for the Trust in embedding continuous improvement and service excellence in the provision of medical services, aligned to the Trust's Clinical Strategy. The postholder will:
drive the implementation of new national initiatives and the introduction of local innovations to improve patient care; lead the implementation and ongoing management of robust systems and processes that achieve continuous clinical improvement with excellent outcomes and safe services; contribute to the development of strategy and operational policies to implement the Trust's approach to the improvement of health and social care systems.
