Our Transmission & Distribution energy team are looking to recruit a Project Manager, who will provide our clients with value added support services from inception to completion across a range of energy project capital programmes.

The position includes a relatively high level of responsibility and accountability with an opportunity to develop your managerial, as well as technical knowledge and skills, and to progress within a successful and growing specialist team. As a Project Manager you will provide project process reports, manage subcontractors, programme sequences of work and overall manage the successful completion of projects for our clients. Our clients vary from DNO's in Scotland to Renewable and industrial clients.
The projects will be predominantly based in Scotland and you can be based in our Glasgow or Edinburgh Office.
Overview of Role:
Responsible for the design of transmission projects for voltages up to 400 kV.
Leadership of multidisciplinary project teams
Ensure project excellence is achieved through a competent, motivated and improvement focused team
Apply and adhere to the Safety Management Systems, best practices and the SSE Large Capital Projects Governance processes for all projects
Coordinate activities and project related matters of the allocated connection projects
Stakeholder engagement and proactive customer engagement to ensure the customer is fully informed on project status
Assist with reviewing site progress and raise Defects for poor quality of work
Accident/incident reporting and providing leadership on site in terms on safety management
Experienced working as a Project Manager within the Energy Transmissions sector (Renewables, Transmissions Networks, Windfarms, DNO's, etc. with an operational understanding of electrical networks gained within the Distribution and/or Transmission businesses
Understanding of the project life-cycle and key project risks for renewable generation technologies
Experienced of working on medium to high voltage projects.
A strong engineering and construction knowledge including safety and CDM regulations.
A logical approach and ability to trouble-shoot complex issues to co-ordinate multi-faceted aspects of projects.
Ideally have experience of personally being responsible for the delivery of large capital projects.
Desired: understand the tendering process for the purchasing and engagement of suppliers including multi-disciplinary contracts.
Desired: understanding of the need to accurately control cost forecasting for the project and work with the contracts manager in updating costs and any cost risk items
