Senior Project Manager - Highways

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Highways Consultancy team. This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work on a range of complex highways projects, while offering them the opportunity to progress their career with a sector leading consultancy.

Overview of Role:

The ideal candidate should have a good working knowledge of infrastructure projects and in particular highways. Alongside this, a working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts, particularly the ECC is desirable. Duties will encompass the project lifecycle including preliminary design assessment, procurement, contract administration and post contract delivery.

Responsibilities:

    \t Work within a multi-discipline Enabling works team to deliver various work packages. \t Manage the risk associated with scope gaps and misalignment between the Contractor and in-house technical teams. \t Working with key interfaces to promote coordination and integration between Enabling and other workstreams within the project. \t Actively support the development of cost, schedule and reporting (weekly reports, monthly dashboards and reports, presentations, etc.) to ensure the requirements are met. \t Assist the Head of Enabling Works in all aspects of the workstream. \t Work with the Stakeholder, Environment team and DCO teams to ensure that consents and approvals are granted before commencement of works. \t To deliver parent company programme governance requirements as required \t To consider programme legacy and in all decision making in the same way as cost, risk and time \t To look for ways to encourage innovative thinking around how to improve legacy benefits. \t To hold health, safety, security and welfare (HSSW) as a key programme value and to participate in the creation, development and implementation of HSSW strategies by the programme leadership team.

    Previous Experience:

      \t Seasoned Senior Project Manager with a track record of delivering projects to time, cost quality standards across all stages of project lifecycle. \t Experience in managing and delivering enabling works including surveys. \t Previous line management experience \t Experience in the writing, reviewing, compilation of reports, and presentations. \t Demonstrable experience of successfully working in/adapting the philosophy of a 'One Team' environment within an NEC contract context. \t Demonstrable experience of working in a major infrastructure project in a similar industry &/or to working in a matrix and dispersed team. \t On site construction experience working closely with contractors \t Team oriented leader with the ability to work closely with peers; delegate, motivate and empower individuals and teams. \t Examples of exercising sound judgement, leading and facilitating decision making on complex issues among multiple parties. \t Educated to degree standard and membership of an appropriate professional body or equivalent work history.
