Colt is the New Standard in high bandwidth network and voice services for enterprises and wholesale customers in Europe, Asia and North America's largest business hubs. With a global reach but a deep local presence, Colt is big enough to deliver and small enough to care.

Role purpose

The Project Manager will be responsible for implementing infrastructure in Colt's Capital Markets network, which is used to deliver and support services for the 'MarketPrizm' and 'PrizmNet' products.

'MarketPrizm' is Colt's suite of co-located hosting-related services, including space and power typically in the same data centre as a Stock Exchange, market access (market data & order-entry), hardware procurement & deployment (network & application servers) and all related connectivity requirements.

'PrizmNet' is Colt's financial extranet, that provides one-to-one or one-to-many interconnectivity between data Providers like a Stock Exchange and a Consuming client.

The Project Manager will clarify the solution scope, determine what resource is required, procure all required services, arrange delivery, installation and testing, to the required cost, quality & timescale. Changes are implemented in accordance with Colt's Capital Markets Change Management process, which is designed to protect Colt's trading-relating services, used by major Financial Firms. Delivery is completed once the solution is transitioned to Colt's Service Assurance team, for ongoing Production support.

Key accountabilities

  • Plan & coordinate all necessary tasks to achieve the deliverable; to time, budget & quality
  • Obtain appropriate resource to conduct the tasks
  • Raise budget and procure all services
  • Manage risks and issues and change management throughout the project life-cycle
  • Track & report project progress, to the Project Sponsor
  • Resolve or escalate issues in a timely & appropriate manner
  • Manage third-party relationships i.e. client, data centre, stock exchange, suppliers
  • Transition the solution from Service Delivery to Service Assurance for production support
  • Recommend lessons learnt
  • Close project


Key performance indicators (financial and non-financial)
  • Define and agree scope (deliverables, quality, cost, timeline etc.) with all parties
  • Implement Colt processes & controls for every project
  • Utilise the most cost-effective means possible, to achieve the desired outcome
  • Transition solution to Service Assurance team without delay
  • Good feedback from Project Sponsor

  • Internal - Project Sponsor (Product Manager or Planning Manager), Procurement, Finance, Service Delivery and Service Assurance teams
  • External - Clients, Stock Exchanges, Data Centres & Hardware Suppliers


Role specific requirements

Skills & Experience
  • Project management within a Financial Services-related company
  • Delivering LAN & WAN connectivity services
  • Provisioning trading-related Colocation hosting solutions
  • Procuring & implementing new hardware in data centre racks
  • Arranging Stock Exchange connections, for market data & order entry
  • Delivering solutions to demanding clients, in a fast-paced environment
  • Implementation of PTP time-messaging is advantageous
  • Managing deliveries from third-party suppliers to planned timetable

Qualifications
  • PRINCE2 or PMP Project Management (not mandatory)
  • ITIL-aware
  • Languages in addition to English, are an advantage
  • Five years related work-experience (not mandatory)
