Marine Systems Integration Manager - Software Engineering
Would you like to be at the centre of marine engineering integration activities within the T26 Frigate marine systems design team, joining together all of marine engineering systems to make sure they're all integrated from a controls software perspective? We currently have a vacancy for a Marine Systems Integration Manager - Software Engineering.
As a Marine Systems Integration Manager - Software Engineering, you will be part of the world class leading anti-submarine frigates design team. The T26 ships will replace the Type 23 frigates that are in service now and will provide the Royal Navy with world-class anti-submarine warfare capability for decades to come.
This role will also provide you with opportunities for growth within the wider BAE business.
Your main responsibilities as a Marine Systems Integration Manager - Software Engineering will involve:
Acting as the Technical Authority for the Power and Propulsion Controls and Monitoring functions for the T26 Global Combat Ship
Managing and facilitating the gathering of control system data and information from Marine Engineering design domains to support design and system integration
Leading the development of the software elements of the Marine Systems safety case
Providing software engineering management and assurance expertise into the T26 Marine Engineering Teams
Managing the interfaces between the T26 Software Assurance, Marine Engineering and Supply Chain Teams
Engaging and consulting with stakeholders to ensure that software engineering activities are conducted in accordance with programme verification and validation criteria, and applicable standards such as ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207:2017
Your skills and qualifications:
Marine Engineering experience, preferably in a complex warship environment
Systems integration experience of marine engineering systems, including complex control systems
Previous experience of defining and conducting tests and trials
Software Engineering knowledge
Software engineering competencies required:
Supplier Technical Management
(All competencies should be at Level 5 or higher (Initiate, Influence) of the SFIA 7 scheme)
Experience of the full software engineering lifecycle to a recognised standard
Knowledge of the contribution that software makes to the safety of integrated systems
Degree qualified in a relevant subject
Chartered Engineer or very close to achieving
Understanding of ISO-IEC-IEEE-12207;2017
Knowledge of Warship Power & Propulsion systems
Integration of marine systems into complex warships
Knowledge of defence acceptance processes

Location: Anywhere in UK, but regular travel to Glasgow will be required once Covid 19 pandemic is over
