The Team

York St John International are responsible for all of our non-UK students, from enquiry and student recruitment through to application and enrolment. We also support students during their transition to studying in the UK, and whilst they're studying with us, via Visa and Compliance, Marketing to students and International Programmes for pre and in-sessional English language. The team also support Study Abroad and Exchange colleagues and partner institutions.

The role

The purpose of this new role is to support the delivery of our new internationalisation strategy that will take us through until 2026. The postholder will represent the University internationally, promote our brand and raise our profile in Europe and UK International in pursuit of international student recruitment targets and contribute to the diversity of the international student body on our York campus, as well as working with our London campus colleagues. The role will recruit students to our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, short courses, summer schools, develop international partnerships, identify opportunities for Trans-National Education, staff and student exchange, and research collaborations on behalf of the Academic Schools.

The role will be UK/York-based with frequent travel to the designated regions of up to 16 weeks per year, and may also require working at evenings and weekends as required.

Key Requirements

Working with the Director of International, the post-holder will be responsible for achieving international student recruitment targets by deploying a devolved budget, identifying market opportunities and developing recruitment strategies designed to grow the University's business in the designated market. The incumbent will also work closely with the Heads of School to develop and maintain international partnerships.
