HEALTH CARE PRACTITIONER - BAND 3

Part Time (34.5 hours per week)

Salary Scale £20,907 - £22,820 pro rata, per annum

This is an exciting opportunity to apply for new senior health care support worker in the orthopaedic ambulatory and emergency care unit.

The new band 3 AEC based HCSW will work alongside the nurse in charge of the trauma unit co-ordinating orthopaedic patients for review, assessment and admission. This new role covers all aspects of nursing care and supporting documentation. The shift pattern will be 0700-1600 4 days a week and includes covering weekends, providing a seven-day service.

The job will be physically and emotionally demanding as the post holder will be required to do clinical and administrative work with minimal supervision. The post holder will need a good command of both spoken and written English as they will be liaising with senior medical staff. You will carry out minor clinical procedures such as venepuncture, catheterisation, ECG and wound dressings including VAC and PICO dressings. The post holder will also complete all relevant nursing assessments and documentation independently.

Applicants will be welcomed from HCSW with a minimum of 2 years' experience in acute care and have some orthopaedic nursing experience.
